PVT. ALEXANDER M. BARTOK, JR.

A memorial service for Marine Pvt. Alexander M. Bartok Jr. of 63 Rosamond St., McKees Rocks, who died March 4 from wounds received on Iwo Jima, will be held at 10:45 a.m. tomorrow at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.


Pvt. Bartok, 19, was wounded in action Feb. 27. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Bartok and was graduated from the McKees Rocks High School. Until he entered service, Jan. 25, 1944, he was employed by the Dravo Co. He went overseas in August.


Besides his parents, he is survived by four sisters, Corp. Julia, in the Marine Corps Women's Reserve; Anna, Elizabeth and Margaret Bartok, and a brother.

Funeral services for Pvt. Alexander Bartok Jr., who was killed on Iwo Jima March 4, 1945, will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Mt. Calvary Evangeline Lutheran Church.


Additional military services will be held by the VFW, Vesle Post 418; the Sto-Rox Post 618, American Legion, at Mt. Cavalry Cemetery.


Pvt. Bartok was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Bartok, 63 Rosemont St., McKees Rocks. Besides his parents, he is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Paul Sinclair, Miss Julia Barton, Mrs. William Rudolchick and Miss Margaret Bartok, and a brother, John Bartok.


Friends are being received at the McDermott Brothers Funeral Home, 1225 Chartiers Ave.
