Bessie Mae Bartlett, 79, 1000 Plantation Rd., Apt.. H-9, died Sunday evening at Holston Valley Hospital & Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Blackwater, Va., she had resided in the Kingsport area most of her adult life. She retired from Borden Mills Corp., after 30 years of service.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Sula Cooper Bowman, Kingsport; a granddaughter, Jane Bowman Watts, Jonesborough and a great-granddaughter, Robin Stapleton, Jonesborough.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Dice and the Rev. Tom Marshall officiating.
Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
