She was born May 1, 1918, in Johnson, Wis., daughter of the late Anton and Olive (Mailand) Kuehnl.
On Oct. 28, 1935, she married Norbert H. Vogt at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death Sept. 15, 1984.
Gertrude was employed in the bakery department at SuperValu for 20 years. She was past officer of the St. Therese Society; secretary and treasurer for Knights of Columbus Auxiliary; member of the Catholic Women's Club, St. Francis of Assisi and the Senior Citizen Center. Gertrude was also a volunteer at Holy Family Hospital for several years and was the funeral lunch chairperson at St. Andrew Catholic Church for many years.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Norbert A. and Sharon Vogt, Manitowoc; LeRoy R. and Sue Vogt, Green Bay; six grandchildren, Kevin Vogt and his wife, Susan, Carla Urbaszewski and her husband, David, Brian Vogt, Anthony Vogt and his wife, Anne, Scott Vogt and his wife, Katie who are expecting a child, Sara Herber and her husband, Travis; nine great-grandchildren, Allison, Grace, Anna, Andrew, Mykal, Kaitlin, Alexis, Lindsay and Mallory; a sister, Katherine Pritzl, Spokane, Wash.; and four sisters-in-law, Marge Kuehnl, Muskegon, Mich.; Frieda Nack, Lila Vogt and Leona Kuehnl, all of Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and James Knoble; a sister, Eleanor Masiak; three brothers, Anton, Arthur and Frank Kuehnl; an infant grandson; and by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2006, at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Hoffman with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum, Highway 310, Manitowoc. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2006, until the time of service at 11 a.m. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff on 3rd Floor Center of St. Mary's Home for the care and compassion they extended to their mother.
