Emil E. Waack, 81, of Route 2, Reedsville, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, July 20, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. John and St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reedsville. The Rev. Harlyn Kuschel will officiate and entombment will be in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth.
Mr. Waack was born May 5, 1901, in the Town of Newton, son of the late Henry Ernest and Sophia Rambadt Waack. He married Bertha Bubolz, April 4, 1923, at St. John and St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reedsville. Mr. Waack had been employed as a cheesemaker until 1941, and then farmed in the Town of Rockland until his retirement. He was a former member of St. John and St. James School Board.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha; three sons and daughters-in-law, Elroy and June Waack of Manitowoc, Harvey and Charmaine Waack of Route 2, Reedsville, and Erwin and Elaine Waack of Route 1, Valders; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Ann and Norman Krahn of Route 1, Brillion, and Ida May and Orville Krepline of Route 2, Brillion; a brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Alethea Waack of Route 1, Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Reuben (Olga) Groelle of Newton; 22 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, and a step-sister.
Friends may call at Reedsville Funeral Home, Reedsville, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and until 10 a.m. Friday, and at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be made to Mr. Waack’s name to St. John and St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reedsville.
