Hazel L. Jewett, of Spring City, died Monday, May 10, 1999, at Spring City Care Center. She was 89.
A native and lifelong resident of Rhea County, Mrs. Jewett was the daughter of the late Jeff and Mary Cordelia Suttles Lavender. She was a homemaker by trade and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Spring City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Jewett, and brothers, Ralph and Roy Lavender.
Survivors include her brother, Bill Lavender of Spring City; sisters, Verna McPherson of Ringgold, Ga., Edna Meadors of Pine Knot, Ky., and Pauline McCulley of Spring City; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, May 12, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Don Allison officiating. Burial was in Spring City Cemetery. Vaughn Funeral Home in Spring City was in charge of the arrangements
