Deceased was born March 28, 1877, at Loami, a son of Charles and Jane McDevitt Mitchell, and was 77 years of age at the time of his death. On March 29, 1899, he was married to Anna Coons.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Velma Lee Lisberg, Tucson, Ariz.; Alta May Sallade, Springfield, and Marvel Eileen Spence, San Diego, Calif.; one son, Herbert Harold Mitchell, Toronto, Canada; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Wilson of Waverly and Mrs. Cora Rigg of Lincoln; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Loami Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Charles A. DeLay officiating.
Burial was in East cemetery Waverly.
