He was born September 3, 1931 in Lansing, Michigan a son of Almeriam W. and Lillian M. Lettimore Allen. He married Betty Hause on November 7, 1953 in Haslett, Michigan and she survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Ken (Connie) Forren of Waverly, Mrs. Gary (Cathy) Gray of Hallsville, Mo., Colleen Hughes of Huffman, Texas, Mrs. Doug (Candee) Heaton of Waverly, Carol Allen of Galesburg and Mrs. Robert (Christine) Stocher of Curran; one sister, Mrs. Harold (Maxine) Meyers of Charlotte, Michigan; one brother, Ronald L. Allen of Kershall, S.C.; his stepmother, Ruth Allen of Lake Odessa, Michigan; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Copley and Norma Jean Masters and one brother, L. Marion James Allen.
Mr. Allen served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean war. He was a member of the Waverly American Legion Post 262 and the First Baptist Church of Waverly.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m.Thursday at Neece Funeral Home in Waverly, and funeral services are at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Waverly East Cemetery.
