"Barbara K. Adams, of Roscoe, a homemaker and an area resident for over 50 years, died Sunday, November 30, 2003 in the Roscoe Community Nursing Home. She was 95. The daughter of the late James and Francs Whitten Johnston, she was born February 3, 1908 in Kinlough, County Leitrim, Ireland. Barbara was a member of the Roscoe Presbyterian Church, a former member of the Home Bureau - Roscoe, the Delaware Scottish Society and the Pillow Group. A family statement reads, 'She sang to all, from young children to her friends in the nursing home and her beautiful voice will be remembered.' She is survived by her daughter, Betty Goetschius of Roscoe; two sons, John Adams and his wife Patricia of Garrison and James A. Adams and his wife Julie Johnston of De Moines, Iowa; a sister, Harriet Milburn of Bath, England; a brother, George Johnston of Toronto, Canada; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John Adams and a daughter, Mabel Burnham.
Visitation will be held form 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday (today), December 2 at the Roscoe Presbyterian Church, Old Rte. 17, Roscoe. The Rev. Gerald Wondra will officiate.
Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe.
