Carrie was the 2nd wife of Frank Albert Wilcox. They were married November 6, 1907 at Methodist Parsonage at Mayville, NY. They had only one child - Robert.

She was not the usual woman of the early 1900's. She did not have to, but worked in her father's [John M. Sheely] store. She did not marry until 26 years of age. After her marriage, she continued to work outside the home in her husband's business.

According to many newspaper articles, both Carrie and Frank were active in the social scene of Corry and participated in many musical endeavors.

1880 - Corry Census, Carrie is 10 months on this census with her parents John and Elisa Sheely.

1900 - Corry Census, Carrie 20, with parents John 44, Lizzie 43, brother John 19 and grandmother Mary Sauer Sheely 72.

1907 - Married Frank Albert Wilcox - "CERIFICATE OF MARRIAGE - Be it known that on the 6th day of November in the Year of our Lord 1907, Frank A. Wilcox and Carrie M. Sheely were by me United In Marriage in accordance with the Laws of the State of New York. Benj. A. Grinder, Clergy, Witness: J.F. Sheely, Mollie Blair Sheely."

1910 - Corry Cenus, Carrie 30, Frank 37.

1912 - Birth of only child, Robert J. Wilcox.

1920 - Corry Census, Carrie 41, Frank 48, son Robert 7.

1930 - Corry Census, Carrie 50, Frank 57, Robert 17.

1940 - Corry Census, Frank 67, Carrie 60.

1945 - Husband Frank A. Wilcox dies.

1946-58, Carrie remains in Corry, Pa and works in the store that her husband and she had for several years.

1958 - Carrie retires and moved to Erie, PA with son Robert and family.

1966 - February 3, Feb 5, Obituaries --- Corry Journal

"Mrs. Frank [Carrie] Wilcox - Mrs. Wilcox ... died yesterday at the home of son Robert J. Wilcox ... Erie. She was 89. She had been in ill health for the past three months.

She was born at Corry on July 14, 1876 [1879] and was a graduate of Corry High School. For many years she worked at her father's paint and wall paper store on West Main, known as the John Sheely Paint and Wallpaper Store. ... Later she and her husband Frank A. Wilcox owned and operated a paint store on East Main until his death January 30, 1945. Following his death she and a son operated the store until her retirement 12 years ago.

Mrs. Wilcox was a member of Corry Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Included among her suvivors are her son, Robert; two grandaughters and one grandson, and several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Percy [Evelyn] Corbin of Corry.

Friends may call at Bracken Funeral Home today ... final rites tomorrow ... Rev. Charles DuBois, pastor of the Episcopal Church will officiate and burial will be made in Pine Grove Cemetery."

"RITES HELD FOR MRS. C. WILCOX - The funeral service for Mrs. Carrie S. Wilcox was held ... burial in family lot at Pine Grove Cemetery. ... Attending the rites from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Wilcox, Miss Gail Wilcox, ... all of Erie."
