Funeral services for Mr. Henry James Stephens will be Sunday, March 11, 2007, 2:00PM at Young Memorial Chapel, 3106 West St., Covington. Rev. Terry Richardson, eulogist. Interment: New Covington Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home Saturday 12-9 PM; family hour 6-8 PM. Survivors: fiance', Ms. Barbara Walker and son Kwame Sarpong. Brother: Mr. J.C. Stephens Jr. Step brother and sister: Mr. Danny Stephens and Ms. Patricia Ann Stephens. Best friend/ "brother": Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bryan (Jackie) Hays Jr. and other relatives. Reverend Terry Richardson, Eulogist. The Obituary: To everything there is a season and a purpose to everything under the Heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1. A Time to be Born: On February 14, 1958, the late Mr. & Mrs. James C. (Catherine Norris) Stephens were the recipients of a special Valentine's Day present, a delightful baby boy whom they named Henry James Stephens. A Time to Plant: Henry was raised and educated in Newton County, Georgia, graduating from Newton County Comperhensive High School in 1976. He attended Florida State University and Dekalb College, majoring in Business Administration. He worked at SAFECO Insurance Company. Subsequently in 1989 he became employed by McNaughton-McKay Electic Company, advancing to the position of Customer Service Representative. A Time to Love: Henry was a very loving and caring person. Everyone that knew him developed a special kinship with him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was quite the comedian even throughout his illness. He was a lover of life and fought a good fight. The perfect friend, Henry never met a stranger and was loved by those whose lives he touched. During his spare time he loved playing tennis and was an instructor at the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association; he was also an avid golfer and fisherman. A Time to Die: After a battle with illness, Henry departed this earthly life on March 6, 2007. He will be greatly missed. A Time to Mourn: He leaves to cherish his memory, fiance': Ms. Barbara Walker and son Kwame Sarpong, brother: Mr. J.C.
