Roberta (Keltner) Asselin, Sug-Wi, 51, of Topeka, was found Sunday, November 16, 2008 at her home. She was born July 19, 1957 at Newport News, Virginia, the daughter of Robert and Theresa "Osh" Wabnum Asselin.
Roberta worked for the State of Kansas as a data entry operator. She had attended Washburn University for a degree in drug and alcohol counseling. She was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and attended Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka.
Roberta married Ray Keltner. They were divorced.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Asselin.
Survivors include two sons, Curtis J Keltner, Ft Bragg, North Carolina, and Michael M Keltner, Mayetta; her father, Robert Asselin, Topeka; her mother, Theresa "Osh" Asselin, Mayetta; one brother, Peter Asselin, Concord, North Carolina; one sister, Sandra Quintana, Topeka; and four grandchildren, Zachary, Kyle, Leilani, and Dustin Keltner.
A rosary and prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, November 20th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt. Cremation will follow. Inurnment will be Saturday in the Matwe-Shobney Cemetery on the Potawatomi Reservation.
Roberta will lie in state after 9:00 am Thursday at the funeral home. There will be a supper at the Dance Ground West of Mayetta on Wednesday evening.
