James Adger Wilder, 84, a retired carpenter, died Saturday, December 31, 1977, in Georgetown County Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Wilder was born July 2, 1893, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Joseph B. Wilder and the late Mrs. Lenora Herrington Wilder.
He was the widower of Lorena Ellen Douglas Wilder. He was a Mason.
He was survived by three sons, James A. Wilder Jr. of Georgetown, Douglas F. Wilder of Oklahoma City, OK, and Robert A. Wilder of Pawleys Island; two daughters, Mrs. W. H. Finkbeiner of Greenwood and Mrs. Willie Starnes of Erwin, PA; a sisters Mrs. Henry L. Smith of Beaufort; 27 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, January 2, 1978, in Pawleys Island Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Burial, directed by Mayer Funeral Home, followed in Rose Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
