MATTIE E. SCHUSTER
Mattie Elizabeth Schuster, daughter of Frank and Martha (Garlock) Ledford, was born near Martinstown, Missouri, June 23, 1881, and departed this life at the Grim-Smith Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri, Sept. 20, 1965 at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 27 days.
She grew to womanhood in the community where she was born and on Sept. 30, 1898 she was united in marriage to Pearl Schuster. To this union six children were born. One daughter, Lois E., and her husband preceding her in death.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons, Nita Patterson of Green Castle, Missouri, Katherine Foster of Miami, Florida, Mabel Sorrell of Unionville, John Schuster of Unionville, and Harry Schuster of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Lucian Ledford of Unionville; other relatives and many friends.
Mrs. Schuster confessed her faith in Christ many years ago and is a long-time member of the Martinstown Baptist Church.
She had been in failing health for the past few years, but bore her affliction with patience and forbearance. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, never losing interest in the things of this generation. Her home meant so much to her and she was always appreciative of the beauty surrounding her which was reflected in her character.
Funeral services were conducted at the Martinstown Baptist Church. Interment was in Lone Pine Cemetery under direction of the Husted Funeral Home.
