Larry found joy in woodworking, bicycling, playing cards and camping. He also enjoyed going to Iowa Cubs baseball games and spending time at the Southside Senior Center.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; son, Larry Darr II; daughter, Sherry Krueger; granddaughters, Jade and Autumn Krueger, and Kara Darr; grandson, A.J. Krueger; great-granddaughters, Lillyonna and Eslie Krueger; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is joining his six brothers and sisters in heaven.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2013 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial following at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
