Mrs. Cleona N. Bradshaw, age 96, of La Grange, MO died Friday, February 12, 2010 at 11:18 a.m. in the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, MO.
She was born July 29, 1913 in La Belle, MO a daughter of James Cecil and Julia Ann Jackson Campbell. She married Robert O. Bradshaw November 4, 1939 in La Grange. He died October 1, 1993.
She attended Elementary School in La Belle, MO and High School in Dalton, MO and then went to Lincoln University in Jefferson City where she received 42 hours towards her teaching certificate.
Mrs. Bradshaw was a member of Green Chapel Baptist Church in LaGrange where she was active with the Sunday school; served as Secretary and President of the Mission Organization and was head cook. She also served as head cook at Camp Inlow near Philadelphia, MO. Cleona also spent 29 years as a cook for the La Grange School, which is now part of the C-1 school district retiring in 1984.
Survivors include one son Robert O. Bradshaw Jr. and his wife Pam of Burlington, IA; two daughters, Rosa Lee Bradshaw and Melva Mosby both of La Grange; 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons James Henry Bradshaw and a son in infancy, two daughters Julia Sue Bradshaw Bramlett and a daughter in infancy, granddaughter Soretha Lea Tasco, grandson Ernest E. Tasco, one brother Malcolm Cecil Campbell and a sister Osceola Tate.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Green Chapel Baptist Church in La Grange with Rev. John H. Mims officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in La Grange. Visitation will be held Friday, February 19, 2010 from 4 until 8 p.m. with family greeting friends after 6 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in La Grange.
The family suggests memorials be made to Green Chapel Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
Pallbearers will be: Donald Weathers, Claude Humphrey, Donald Ashby, Ray Robinson, Finley Lewis Jr. and Ronnie Lewis.
