Reverend Jessie Lee Adams, 90, of Lenoir died Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at Caldwell County Hospice.
He was born Oct. 10, 1913 in Wilkes County to the late Millard Newton Adams and Delia Ford Adams, In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Mable Sparks; children Carl David Adams, Jessie Lee Adams, Jr. and Bernice Adams.
Rev. Adams was a retired furniture worker, club member ship of Caldwell County R.S.V.P, and member of Lenoir Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lincoln (Doris) Greene of Hudson; Mrs. Norman (Irene) Curtis; and Mrs. Ken (Grace) Townsend, both of Lenoir; two sons, Mr. Wiley Adams and wife, Drena of Lenoir; Mr. William Adams and wife Pat of Hickory; Christine Adams, wife of the late Carl David Adams; 11 grandchilden; 29 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 24, 2004 at 3 p.m. at Pendry's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Gilliam and Rev. Allen Freedell officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 24, 2004, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Pendry's Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Lee Adams, Ricky Adams, Steve Curtis, Kevin Townsend, David Adams and Walt Stroup.
