L. B. Forrest, Sr., 70, of Winona died of exposure February 6. He was a native of Montgomery County, the son of the late Sam and Classie Forrest and husband of the late Frances K. Forrest.
Survivors include seven daughters, Margie Robinson, Viola Hobbs, Rosie Forrest, all of Winona; Maggie Burt, Susie Forrest and Anna Ruth Forrest, all of Duck Hill; and Rosie Love of Chicago; six sons, J. L. Forrest of Louisville, Ky., L. B. Forrest and Chester Lee Forrest, both of Winona; James Lee Forrest, Johnnie Forrest and John Arthur Forrest, all of Duck Hill; six brothers, Earnester Forrest, Anderson Forrest, Johnnie L. Forrest, Johnnie B. Forrest and Essie V. Forrest, all of Winona and Sylvester Forrest of Jackson; five sisters, Eveline Daves, Julia Jamerson, Emily woods, all of Winona, Annie Bell Brown of Jackson and Virgie Lee Woods of Sunflower; 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Dewitt Baker at Roberts & Sons Mortuary on Sunday, February 12, at 2:00 P.M. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery (Montgomery County) with Roberts & Sons Mortuary in charge.
Pallbearers were Edward Robinson, Willie Burt, L. B. Daniels, Jimmie Hobbs, John Tyler and Bernard Goldman.
