Mrs Alexander was a memebr of the first graduating class from Palmer Memorial Institute and attended Bennett College. She also attended Cheney Institute in Pennsylvania and Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
She also taught in the Guilford County schools and during the summer at A&T and NCSU.
Mrs Alexander was the director of Arts and Crafts at the Brooklyn Museum before her retirement and move back to Greensboro in 1965.
Survived by Dr G Alexander, Mrs L Lee and Mrs G Hicks. Sister Elsie Waugh and brothers Fox Waugh and Sterling Waugh.
Mrs Alexander was cremated.
