Sue Holmstrom, 83, died Feb. 26, 2013 at her home in Yazoo City.

Funeral services were March 2, 2013 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Meridian.

Mrs. Holstrom was born March 9, 1929 in Kemper County to Joe and Ruby Poole Vaughan.

She grew up helping her family farm crops and pick cotton. She married Clarence Adams in 1952. He came to the marriage with two sons, Rusty Adams and Cliff Adams. Together they had four children, David Adams, Howard Adams, Tommy Adams and Susie Patenode.

After her husband died in 1976, she was left to care for her remaining young children. Life was hard, and she had jobs as a cook, waitress, and line worker at a chicken plant.

She later married V. L. Stewart and lived on his farm until he died in 1996.

After a time she moved to Clark, South Dakota to be near her daughter and grandchildren.

There she married Algot Holmstrom on Sept. 20, 2004. She lived with him on his farm, where they operated a truck garden and sold their produce at a farmer's market in Watertown, South Dakota.

They moved to Ms. to retire, finally ending up in Yazoo City where she died of Alzheimers at home with her husband and granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, Clarence Adams and V. L. Stewart; son and step-son, Howard Adams and Rusty Adams; and siblings, Bilbo Vaughan, Margaret Sells, and Alice Knowles.

Survivors include her third husband, Algot Holmstrom; stepsons, Cliff Adams, Michale Holmstrom, Daniel Holmstrom, and Jack Holmstrom; step-sisters, Ruth Matthies and Jane Gammilen; brothers, James Vaughan Sr., Frank Vaughan, Joe Vaughan, and Norman Vaughan; Children, David Adams (Peggy), Tommy Adams (Tammy), Susie Patenode (Pat), Margaret Adams and Samantha Adams; 15 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.

Serving as pallbearers were David Adams, Shawn Adams, Tommy Adams, James Vaughan Jr., Mark Robinson and William Chapman.

Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren.
