MAUGANSVILLE - Amanda Eby Martin, age 86, a resident of the Mennonite Home in Maugansville, Md., died at 1:40 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, at the home.

Born June 19, 1923, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Phares H. and Fannie R. (Eby) Martin.

She was a member of the Reiff Mennonite Church near Cearfoss. She worked in the bakery for the former Martin's Food Market in Hagerstown.

Surviving family are
a sister, Mary E. Martin, a resident of the Mennonite Home, Maugansville;
a brother, Reuben A. Martin of Hagerstown;
12 nieces and nephews; and
a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by
a sister, Florence Martin; and
two brothers,
Abel E. Martin and
Phares E. Martin Jr.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. from the Reiff Mennonite Church near Cearfoss with the Reiff Mennonite Church Ministry officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle.
