Was substitute teacher many years at Pine Grove Elementary. She enjoyed working with young children and volunteered for many outings especially concerning her grandchilden.
She was a volunteer for Relay For Life for many years.

"Gail Ann Spears, 68, of Spring Hill, FL, died April 12, 2009. She was born April 13, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA., grew up in Corry and Erie, PA and moved to Spring Hill, FL in 1985. Gail was a substitute school teacher for 24 years in the Hernando School system but for the last several years at Pine Grove Elementary School. She volunteered for many school projects. She was very active in the PTA and she was co-chairperson for the Relay for Life for Pine Grove and worked on the campaign up until her death.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Robert J. Wilcox and Honorè J. Dugan Wilcox. She is survived by her husband, Donald Spears, daughter ... of Spring Hill, FL; step-son ... of GA; step-daughter ... of AZ; sister ..., brother ..., of Spring Hill, FL; grandchildren ..., nieces and nephews, and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Gail's life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on April 25, 2009 at the Turner Funeral Homes, Spring Hill Chapel, 14360 Spring Hill drive, Spring Hill, FL. In lieu of flowers, it is the family's wish that donations be made to Relay For Life, Pine Grove Elementary School Chapter through the Superior Bank, 4556 Suncoast Blvd, Homosassa, FL, 34446."
