Beloved husband, father, and brother passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013, with his family by his side at the age of 65.
Joe was born September 4, 1947, in Saginaw to the late Joseph and Gertrude (Rose) Abler. In his youth he was a proud Eagle Scout. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Kosciusko Club and the Eagles Club. He loved riding his motorcycle and camping at Old Orchard in Oscoda.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Joy (Braman) Abler; his son Jeff Abler; and siblings, Ed (Sharon) Abler, Karl Abler, and Cindy (Ron) Johnson and his little buddy, Maggie May.
Funeral services will take place at 4:00 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at W.L. Case & Company 5700 Dixie Hwy. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate the service with cremation to follow. Military Honors will be under the auspices of American Legion Post #22. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Saginaw or to the family. www.casefuneralhome.com
