William FOTHERGILL, son of John James FOTHERGILL and Mary Ann ROBERTS, was emigrated to Canada with four siblings as a British Home Child by Louisa Birt (Liverpool Sheltering Home) in 1900 at the age of 4. He was "adopted" by the Thomas GRAVES family and eventually adopted the name Charles William GRAVES.
William is found as William FATHERGILL [sic] in the GRAVES household on the Canada 1901 census; and as Charles FATHERGILL [sic] on the 1911.
William is found as Charles GRAVES in the Canada 1921 census after having relocated to Saskatchewan.
