Charles Regan Rawlins was born 10 July 1919 in San Benito, Cameron, Texas to B.D. and Mary Lucille (Spinks) Rawlins. His father had changed the spelling of his name from William Henry Rollings to B.D. Rawlins when he left Guntersville, Marshall, AL after an incident. During the depression of the 1930s he joined the CCC boys and worked up in Marysville, CA. In 1939 he joined the US Army. Charles married first Dorcas Houlting in Cameron County. They had 3 children: Victor, Frank and Carol. They divorced around 1945-6. Charles had 3 brothers and one sister. The brothers were Clarence, John and Jackie - all deceased. The sister was Mary Beth Napps Lett, also deceased. In 1946 he was stationed at Ft. Meade, MD and met and married Mildred Adell Cook. They had 4 children: Kathleen, Jay, William and Kenneth. Jay is deceased. After he left the service, he worked first as a bus driver, then a security guard for Westinghouse and next and last as an air conditioning technician. In 1961 he, Mildred and the children moved to Fort Worth, TX. In 1981, he and Mildred divorced and he married Jean Banks in Scroggins, Franklin, TX. He died in 1992 in Scroggins.
First wife= Dorcas Houghtling, Second wife= Mildred Cook, Third wife= Jean Banks. Served in Army in WWII- Sgt Major - 1st Calvary. Seven children, 10 grandchildren.
