Jeanne, or "Jane" as she was usually called, was born in Le Bic, Québec, Canada. She emigrated to Fall River, Mass. probably in summer 1901, where her father set up a neighborhood grocery with her uncle Alphonse, where she worked for many years alongside other family members. She married Raymond Burke, a gas company worker, in June of 1938, and became a homemaker. The most visible memory of her now among family members is her baby grand piano, which her neice Kathe now has in her living room.
