WORCESTER - Lillian M. (Allen) Pominville, 83, of Worcester passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 28th 2013 in her home.
Lillian was born in Worcester, a daughter of Lester and Josephine (Cody) Allen. She grew up in Worcester and graduated from Worcester Girls Trade. Lillian then met and married the man who would become her love Melvin Pominville. Together they settled in the Grafton Hill section of Worcester where she lived in the same house for the next 63 years.
Lil's husband Melvin passed away in 1983. She is survived by a son, Donald Pominville of Uxbridge; three grandchildren, Justin Pominville and his wife Stacy of Uxbridge, Edward J. Pominville and his wife Amy, and Ericka K. Pominville all of Worcester; two great grandchildren, Zooey Pominville and Evan White; her daughter in laws, Christine Miller and Gail Pominville ; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, including niece AnnMarie Docimo who helped care for Lillian.
A son, Edward C. Pominville, passed away in 2005. A brother, Lester Allen and four sisters, Jeanne Allen, Constance O'Connell, Grace Stewart, and Barbara Docimo all pre deceased her.
Lil was a member and volunteer for the friendly house, and St Joseph Thrift Shop and loved her cats. In her younger days, she and her husband Melvin loved to square dance and they loved to travel. Lil will be remembered for her infectious laugh and funny hats.
A period of calling hours will be held Monday, April 1st from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , 30 Speen St., Framingham.
