Services for L. Z. Redden of 713 Walker, who died in a local hospital following an extended illness, will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the New Zion Baptist Church.
Rev. L. D. Bell will officiate with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
A wake is scheduled Friday from 7 to 8 pm at Tims Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Redden was born in Cherokee County and had resided in Lufkin for the past 41 years. He was a retired motel custodian and was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors: wife, Ester of Lufkin; step-children, Robert Lee Davis & Euda Bell Lewis of Grapeland; brother, Raymond of Jacksonville; aunt, Dollie Barnes of Jacksonville; 15 step-grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Step-grandsons and step-great-grandsons.
