He was born Apr 7, 1912, at Malad, ID, the son of Thomas & Alice Ann Leavitt Babbitt. He grew up in Malad until he was 16 & attended schools there, then the family moved to McGill, NV. He lived in Boulder City, NV, from 1932-35, where he helped build Boulder Dam (now Hoover Dam). He lived in Portland, OR, during World War II & worked as a machinist. He came to Idaho Falls in 1945.
He married Marie Baldwin on Nov 28, 1932, in Las Vegas, NV. He worked as a carpenter & machinist in construction & electrical contracting. He owned Babbitt Electric & Refrigeration. After retiring in 1972, he mined for gold in Montana & Utah.
He was a member of the LDS Church & of the Eagles & Elks Lodges. He was a charter member of Flying B Resort Ranches, which flies into primitive areas. He was a member of NECA (National Electrical Contractors' Association) & of Local #449 Electricians' Union.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan 13, 1993, at 1:00 PM at Wood Funeral Home, with Bishop John Murdock of the Idaho Falls LDS 20th Ward officiating. The family visited with friends at Wood's for one hour prior to services. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
