Mrs. Sarah A. Van Etten, of Delaware township, died at an early hour on Friday morning last, after a long illness. The cause of her death was dropsy and heart disease. She passed away suddenly, having spoken to one of her sons in regard to some household duty just a few minutes before she expired. A very short time afterward, her mother visited her bedside and found that the sufferer was dead. She was the widow of the late John C. Jagger, who died some years ago. Later she married John L. Van Etten, who also preceded her to the grave. Had she lived until the 17th of July, she would have been 57 years of age. She is survived by two sons and three daughters. The funeral took place at her residence on Sunday afternoon, and the sermon was preached by Rev. C. E. Scott.
