Passed away Monday morning, March 8, 2004. Louise was born (Catherine Louise Rush) on December 24, 1908 in Millinocket, Maine the daughter of Robert and Mary Clements. (Catherine Louise was actually born to James Augustas and Mary (nee: Chisholm) Rush and later adopted by William Batton Clements when he and Mary Rush married after James Rush's death). Louise was a graduate of Mt. Holy Oak College and worked as a registered nurse for several years. Louise was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kalamazoo and several other clubs which included; Republicans Women Club; the Ladies Library; Parliamentary Club; Bronson Auxiliary; and the Elks BPOE #50. On July 15, 1935 she was united in marriage to Robert Hartman who preceded her in death on April 7, 1983. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Surviving are her son, Robert (Donna) Hartman of Kalamazoo; 2 grandchildren, Todd Hartman, Pam (Steve) Roberts; 3 great-grandchildren, Chase, Alyson, and Taylor; a brother, Dr. Robert (Marjorie) Clements of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. A private family graveside service will be held in White Pigeon Cemetery.
