George was the son of Constance Mary Clo, who died in 1908 in Seattle, WA. He and his older brother Arthur Verner were raised there by his grandparents, George and Inger Clo, both natives of Norway (immigrated in 1880).

In the 1940 census, George age 36 and wife Madelaine age 31 (b. New Mexico), along with her brother Eugene Hill, were enumerated in Monahans, TX.

He died at home of an heart attack. His death certificate states that he served in the armed forces.
