Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 14, 2005, at Truelight Missionary Baptist Church, 1104 14th Street, Wasco, California, for longtime resident Ima L. Lewis, 84, who passed away on April 7, 2005, in Delano, California. Interment will follow in Wasco Cemetery with Rev. Marvin Cockrell officiating.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2005, in the Chapel of the Jesse E. Cooley Jr. Funeral Services, 1111 California Ave., Bakersfield, California.
Ima leaves to cherish her memories many nieces and nephews, Rosetta Smith, Yvonne Butler, Gerald Mitchell of Wasco, Gwendolyn Lee of San Bernardino, Barbara and Willie Dancy of Tennessee; Donna Brown, Ronald and Holly Mitchell, Jerry Mitchell, Deborah Mitchell and Linda Mitchell of Bakersfield; Marlene Foots of Shafter, Caroline Daniely of Diamond Barr and Sandra Mitchell of Los Angeles; and many great and great-great-nieces and nephews, along with a host of loving relatives and friends.
Our family wishes to thank those who helped care for Ima in the past few years. A special thank you to special neighbors and friends who had many visits and phone chats, with Ima. The staff of Shafter Meals on Wheels and a very special thanks to her nephew, Ulyssee Dirks and the Lewis family. Ima will be deeply missed.
