Buzz was born July 5, 1931 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Marlyn Robert Bailey and Frances Roberta Inwood Bailey. He died May 31, 2008 in Olympia, Washington.

Raised in Michigan, Buzz, calling himself a "Corporate Gypsy", later lived in, Ohio, Iowa, Wisconsin, and 2 years in England. As a Manufacturing Management Consultant, his work took him abroad. He worked for Eaton Manufacturing, Cutler-Hammer Products, Afco New Idea Farm Equipment and Teleflex.

Buzz graduated from Lakeview High School (Battle Creek, MI) in 1949 and Michigan State University in 1956, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree. He served in the Air Force from 1950-1953. He married first, Alexandra Thomas in 1954, and second Constance Hankins in 1991.

Favorite interests included genealogy and family history, playing the organ, working on computers, and with his wife, traveling and lecturing on cruise ships. Working in the Family History Center, he helped many patrons trace their ancestry.

Surviving are his wife, Connie, sons Thomas (Phoenixville, PA) and Philip (Lansing, MI), 1 brother, Robert (Monroe, MI), and sisters Beverly Vallilee (Battle Creek, MI) and Barbara Tousey (Sebring, FL) and Frances Frey (South Bend, IN), Five Grandchildren, Five Stepchildren, and 13 Step Grandchildren.
