The youngest of seven children, Salvador was born on to Sicilian immigrants Gioacchino and Margherita Ferrante Bertolino in Houston, Texas. A Houston resident for most of his life, he graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1938. During World War II, he served his country in the United States Navy as a 3rd Class Storekeeper aboard the U.S.S. Charger in Norfolk, Virginia. He married his high school sweetheart, Constance Leghpage Griscom, on March 20, 1942 she has been his everything for 63 years. Salvador worked at Armco Steel for 32 years to support his family and attended Our Lady of Fatima Church in Galena Park. To those who knew and loved him, Salvador was a gentle man with a beautiful smile and a twinkle in his eye. He was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by a large and loving family including his wife Constance Griscom Bertolino, his son John Bertolino and wife Nancy Orchard Bertolino, son Richard "Jerry" Bertolino and wife Vicky Pearson Bertolino, his son Michael Bertolino and fiancée Ms. Johnnie Myres, daughter Ann Bertolino Kotal and husband Mark Kotal, daughter Carol Bertolino Marshall and husband Scott Marshall, son James Bertolino and wife Robyn Borski Bertolino, grandchildren John Stephen Bertolino, Crystal Bertolino, Gina Pierce, Thomas Coburn, Jamie Bertolino Bayless, Robert Bertolino, Christopher Shane Pierce, Sean Marshall, Michael J. Bertolino, Derek Rogers, Lindsay Bertolino, Landon and Bailey Bertolino, great-grandchildren Zan Bertolino, Jordan Bertolino, Devyn Bertolino, and sister Mary Bertolino Tucker. He is preceded into death by father Gioacchino Bertolino, mother Margherita Ferrante Bertolino, and son Thomas Paul Bertolino.
