FRUITLAND PARK — Alda Irene Borowicz, 95, died April 4, 2013.

Mrs. Borowicz was born in Morrison, IL. She worked for the General Electric Corporation and Kennedy Space Center all through the Apollo Program and retired with 23 years of service. A member of the Odd Fellows Rebekah Lodge No. 52 in Leesburg, she was awarded their Declaration of Chivalry.

She is survived by her husband Raymond Borowicz; six step children; and eight step-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., Monday April 8, 2013 with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. at Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg. The service will include rites from the Rebekah Lodge and will be officiated by Pastor Dave Stull. Private burial will take place in Morrison, IL.

Alda Irene Borowicz, 95, of Fruitland Park, FL was born March 28, 1918 to Harry and Rachel Carlton Rick at Morrison, IL. Mrs. Borowicz died at her home on April 4, 2013. She attended local schools in the Morrison area, graduating from Rock Falls High School and then went on to attend Business College. She worked for the General Electric Corporation and Kennedy Space Center all through the Apollo Program and retired with 23 years of service. A member of the Odd Fellows Rebekah Lodge #52 in Leesburg, FL, she was awarded their Declaration of Chivalry in 1985 at Deland, FL for outstanding work in the Lodge where she had been a member since 1950. Her first husband Lawrence Hollifield preceded her in death in 1981 and she later remarried Raymond Borowicz in September 1989, who survives her. Also surviving are: 6 step children, 8 step grandchildren. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. A visitation will be held on Monday April 8, 2013 from 1-2 PM with a funeral service to follow at 2 PM in the chapel of Beyers Funeral Home in Leesburg, Florida that will include rites from the Rebekah Lodge and be officiated by Pastor Dave Stull. Private burial will take place in Morrison, IL.
