LeRoy G. (Mac) McCarthy, age 81, a resident of 3309 Yorkshire Lane, Manitowoc, entered into eternal rest, Saturday, February 12, 2005 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Private family visitation and funeral services will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Deacon Tom Koch will officiate. Burial of his cremains will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Clarks Mills, Wis.

LeRoy was born March 6, 1923 to the late John and Margaret Nate McCarthy. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School in Clarks Mills, and graduated from Valders High School in 1941. He married Ruth Denk, Oct. 8, 1947. Throughout the years, LeRoy was employed at various places, including farming on the home farm and the Manitowoc Engineering Co, from where he retired in 1985. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. He was an usher at the church and a member of the church's Holy Name Society. He was an avid fan of the Milwaukee Brews, and particularly enjoyed aggravating local Chicago Cubs fans. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth; three children, John (Sandy) McCarthy of Cato, Linda (Jeff) Preiss of Sheboygan, Connie (Tom) O'Malley of California; nine grandchildren, Casey, Rebecca, Theresa and Brittany McCarthy; Jenna (Brad) Rosewald, Chad (Sarah) Preiss; Jiriah, Nolan and Colin O'Malley; three great-grandchildren, Callie, Hannah and Kiersten; a brother, Earl (Shirley) McCarthy of Manitowoc; three sisters, Lauretta (Frank) Bartel of Sheboygan, Margie Engelbrecht of Manitowoc, Charlotte Mae (Bill) Redding of Florida; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Lorraine (Elmer) Fischer, Veronica (Lester) Gerl, and Eddie Engelbrecht and a grandson, Bevin O'Malley.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc, is assisting the McCarthy family with funeral arrangements.
