MARVIN L. PIVONKA

Marvin "Muff" Pivonka, age 78, of Clarks Mills, died on Thursday morning, Feb. 28, 2008, at the Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay.
Muff was born on April 9, 1929, in Clarks Mills, son of the late Louis and Matilda (Denk) Pivonka. He graduated from Valders High School, with the class of 1947, where he distinguished himself as an outstanding athlete in multiple sports. On Sept. 27, 1950, Muff married his childhood sweetheart, Marge Schuh. Muff began his life's work at Riverbend Mink Ranch, founded by his father, Louis, in Clarks Mills. The operation continued with the help of many family members throughout the years. He was a member of the Lakeshore All Sports Hall of Fame and a successful St. Mary's Grade School basketball coach, leading the boys and girls teams to many division championships in the 1960s and 1970s.
Muff was also a member of the Catholic Knights, St. Mary's Mens Club, and the Kettle Moraine Mink Breeders Association.

Survivors include his wife, Marge of Clarks Mills; two sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Gloria Pivonka nad Jim and Gail Pivonka, all of Clarks Mills; two daughters, Diane Pivonka and life partner John Nemick of Green Bay and Donna Jo and life partner Nancy Kulibert, Beaver Dam; eight grandchildren.
He is further survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Monica Pivonka of Manitowoc; six sisters-in-law, Elizabeth "Sis" Hartsworm of Appleton, Grace Torrison of Valders, Beatrice "Beatie" and Jim Lau of Manitowoc, Sharon Schuh of Clarks Mills, Katie Schuh of Valders, Joan Schuh of Valders and Owen Peterson of Gladstone, Mich.


Muff was preceded in death by a brother: Harold "Bud" Pivonka; father-in-law and mother-in-law: George and Blanche Schuh; nine brothers-in-law: Jack, Jim, Chuck, Wally, Hal, George, Gustav, Keith and Bobby; five sisters-in-law: Susie, MaryAnn, Dolores, Sylvia and Marie; and one nephew: David.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2008, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be
the Rev. David Zimmerman, with burial on Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the church cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, March 3, 2008, at St. Mary's Catholic Church from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m.

Muff had always loved the outdoors: trapping, fishing and countless hours of home landscaping, feeding the birds and reading.
Muff was a dedicated, nurturing and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, who will remain in our hearts forever.
