John James "Jack" Schuh, age 79, of 611 County Highway JJ, Cato, died unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, Nov. 13, 2007, while out on his daily walk, which he had been doing for the past 20 years.

He was born to Blanche McCulley and George Schuh on May 3, 1928, along with his twin brother Jim. He was one of 11 children. He lived in Clarks Mills all of his life, and spent 75 of his 79 years in the family home. He attended St. Mary's Grade School, and graduated from Valders High School in 1946. He was a life long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Clarks Mills Sportsmen's Club, and a proud lifetime member of The Operating Engineers Local Union No. 139.

On Nov. 15, 1952, he married the former Mary Ann Birringer at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Together they had three children: Jacqueline, Mark and Daniel. Mary Ann died on March 4, 1971. He then married the former Sharon Traeger on June 8, 1974, at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. John was a heavy equipment operator for Bahr Construction and Spancrete, and retired from McMullin & Pitz in 1991.

In addition to his loving wife, Sharon, he is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline, and her husband, Chris Page, Deerfield; sons, Mark and Carole Schuh, Appleton; and Daniel Schuh and his partner, Michael Silver, Chicago; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four sisters, Sis Hartsworm, Appleton; Grace Torrison, Valders; Beatice (Jim) Lau, Manitowoc; and Marge (Marvin) Pivonka, Clarks Mills; sisters-in-law; Kate Schuh and Joan Schuh; and brother-in-law; Owen Peterson; Milton and Joan Birringer, Manitowoc; and Robert and Fran Kubale, Green Bay.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents: George and Blanche Schuh; five brothers: George Jr., Hal, Wally, his twin brother, Jim, and Chuck Schuh; a sister: Sue; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Keith Hartsworm; Gustave Torrison Robert Dornaus; Dolores Schuh; Marie Schuh; and Sylvia Schuh.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at Christianson & Deja Funeral Home, Valders, and at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. James Jugenheimer, with burial to
follow in the church cemetery.
