Mr. Deverick was born on Dec. 6, 1926, in Vandalia, the son of Noah and Edna Trexler Deverick. He and his wife Helen "June" Deverick, were married on July 4, 1951, in Bentonville, Ark.
He worked for the railroad, and was a member of Crown Point Community Church in rural Vandalia, Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 in Vandalia and VFW Post 3862 of Vandalia. He served in the Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Kimberley Deverick of Indianapolis, Ind.; brother, Russell Deverick and his wife Eleanor; sisters, Lucille Smith and Betty Stinebring; and grandchildren, Stefanie Fair and Jennifer Fair.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lloyd and Clarence; and a sister, Lois.
