William "Bill" Kohle was born August 11, 1928 in Stuart, Nebraska to Hubert H. and Catherine "Kate" M. (Steinhauser) Kohle.
Bill attended St. Boniface School through the 8th grade. Bill farmed with his dad and brothers until entering the Army in 1950. After he returned from the service, he married Doris Davis on May 26, 1953 and 7 children were born to this union. They farmed and ranched for 50 years before retiring and moving to town.
Bill as an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper. He followed his children's various sports and school activities and enjoyed golf in his retirement years. He was also a member of the Stuart (NE.) American Legion Carlisle Post No. 115 for more than 60 yrs.
Bill is survived by: wife, of 59 years, Doris Kohle of Stuart, NE.; daughters, Cindy (Kent) Barney of Kearney, NE., Pat Kohle of Norfolk, NE., Julie (Bill) Tielke of Atkinson, NE., Laurie (Tim) Murphy of Valentine, NE. and Deb (Derric) Maas of Norfolk, NE.; sons, Jim (Linda) Kohle of Stuart NE. and Jerry (Teresa) Kohle of Stuart, NE.; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert "Bob" Kohle of Stuart, NE. and sister, Mary Kunz of Stuart, NE.
Bill was preceded in death by: parents; brothers, Frank "Fritz" and George John Kohle; sister-in-laws, Jeanie Kohle and Kay Kohle and brother-in-law, Stuart E. C. "Bud" Kunz.
Interment was in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Stuart, NE.
