Rites Are Conducted For James C. Houk

LITTLEFIELD, July 19 - (Special) - Funeral services for James C. Houk, 69, who died at his home here Friday, were conducted at the First Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Rev. Arthur K. Hunt, pastor of the First Christian Church, assisted by the Rev. Harry Vanderpool, First Methodist Church pastor, officiated at the services.

Burial was in Littlefield Memorial Park under direction of Hammons Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Bud Lowe, E.J. Foust Jr., Gene Bartley, Earl Matney, A.L. Alexander and David Vaughn.

Houk had been a resident of Littlefield 31 years and had operated a grocery store until recent years when he operated a newsstand here.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, Marion L., 2106 Cornell, Lubbock, and Max, Olton; two daughters, Mrs. Suzanne Walker, Washington, D.C., and Mrs. O.D. Yeager Jr., Brownfield; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, A.L., and a sister, Mrs. Lillie Rawlins, both of Jamestown, Ind.
