Mary Ruth Jelet, wife of Samuel Muma, died at their home in Nester township, May 8, 1911, at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 11 days. She was married to Samuel Muma Sept. 3, 1854, and they lived happily together nearly 57 years. Mr. Muma and four children mourn the loss of a loving wife and tender mother. One son in his eighth year was accidentally killed. The living children are Alexander, the oldest, living in Nester, Mrs. N. McCaffrey of Canada, Mrs. Mathews of Sage and Mrs. Orpha Raddick of Gladwin.

Mr. and Mrs. Muma came to Gladwin county in 1882; living in Grout township and the city of Gladwin until 12 years ago, since which time they have lived in Nester, Roscommon county.

Burial took place May 9 in Butman cemetery. Funeral services were held at Butman schoolhouse, Rev. L. V. Soldan officiating. Gladwin County Record dated 6-15/1911.
