My dearest Aunt Ellie survived for for almost 50 years after her husband died. She live to be 103 and was amazing! My sister, Kim, and I visited Texas on a genealogical search back in 2009 and got to visit with her. She still had a functioning brain and was still able to have conversations about the past. She could walk by herself. I remember leaving the restaurant, where we all ate one afternoon, and I was compelled to hold her arm as we left. So, she was in her 90s the last time I saw her. God must have loved her very much.

I remember sitting at Linda Brady's big dining room table and across the table was Aunt Ellie. It got quiet, and I looked up, and Aunt Ellie was looking at me. She smiled at me and I gave her a big smile back. Sometimes it's just the little things that mean so much.
