Died, Jan. 16th, 1890, in New Lime, Ashtabula Co., O., William Colier aged 82 years. Grandpa Colier was an old resident of Brunswick, well known and respected, having lived here nearly 40 years. He was born in Ivanhoe, Birminghamshire, England, where 34 years of his life was spent and where he buried his first wife. He came to America with his son when the latter was 9 years of age. This son, Geo. Colier, with three daughters, viz. Mrs. Orlando Church of Mich., Mrs. Emory Wait and Mrs. Wesley Wait of this town, comprise the surviving family. About a year since he went to Ashtabula Co. to stay with his son. He came to Cleveland to spend the holidays with grandchildren there and expected to visit the children in Brunswick before he returned to New Lime but being attacked with la grippe thought best to go back immediately. He arrived home on Saturday the 11th inst. He was sick then though not considered dangerous. Monday the disease took a typhoid pneumonia form and on Thursday at 6 a.m. he breathed his last after much suffering. The remains were brought here and the funeral attended from the Methodist church last Sabbath, Jan. 19th., Rev. M.W. Reese officiating. The body will find a last resting place by that of his third wife in our town cemetery while the second wife sleeps in the cemetery at Bennetts Corners.

Jan. 20. Died at New Lyme O. Wm. Collyer, of Pneumonia, the result of la grippe, aged 82 years. Wm. Collyer born in Ivanhoe, Berminghamshire, Eng., Oct. 11, 1807, died Jan. 16, 1890, at New Lyme O. He removed to this country and settled in Hinkley, Medina Co., O., in 1842, where he remained 13 years and then removed to Brunswick where he made his permanent home. For the last eight or ten years he has made his home with some one of his children, and died at his son's, George Collyer of New Lyme, O. He was the father of six children, four of whom survive him, viz. Mr. George Collyer of New Lyme, O., Mrs. Maty Ann Waite of B., Mrs. Tabitha Church, of Adrian, Mich., and Mrs. Clarrisa Waite of B., all of whom were present at the funeral. The remains were brought to B[erea] on Friday last and the funeral services were held in the M.E. Church Sunday. Rev. M.W. Reece preaching a short discourse from Heb. 11:14, "For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country."
