The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.
The son of Alvin Taylor and Rose Wilson Taylor, Billy was born on August 1, 1924, in Cumby, Texas.
Having moved from Abilene to Hawley 34 years ago, he retired from the Texas Highway Department in Jones County. Billy loved tinkering with tractors and machinery in his shop.
He married Nadine Crawford on December 23, 1953, in Abilene.
Mr. Taylor was a member of Hawley Church of Christ, and a U. S. Marine Corps veteran.
His parents, three brothers, and a sister preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine of Hawley; a daughter, Kathy Walker and Bill Miller of Hawley; a son, William Taylor of Hawley; a brother Casey Taylor and wife Mildred of Fort Worth; a sister Genevive De Fries of Tennessee; grandchildren - Willie Walker and wife Sherry of Abilene, Kristy Taylor and husband Andy of Baird, and Nathaniel Taylor of Austin; and great grandchildren - Zackary Taylor and Sam Walker.
Memorials may be made in honor of Mrs. Taylor to Hendrick Hospice Care, Abilene, Texas.
