Danvers---- Ernest L. Armand,Jr., 54, died unexpectedly last night in the Hunt Memorial Hospital. Danvers police said today he was jogging at the YMCA and collapsed there. He was taken to the Hunt Hospital , admitted at 10:05 p.m. and died shortly afterwards.
Husband of Marie F.(Turple) Armand.
Born in Beverly, son of Ernest L. and Joyce(Marshall) Armand of Danvers. Life-long resident of Danvers.
Vice-president of Mfg. for Post Machine Co., of Portsmouth, NH., formerly of Beverly.
B.S. from Salem State.

Army Air Force veteran of WWII, with the rank of Sergeant. A Mason, he was active in many Danvers organizations & youth sports. Member of Maple Street Congegational Church.

Survived by his wife, parents, a son ,Roderick E. Armand of Danvers; daughter, Linda, wife of Steven P. Gilzinger; brother, Marshall E. Armand; grandchildren, Michelle A. Gilzinger and Derick Grant Armand; three nephews.
Services in Maple Street Congregational Church, Monday. Burial Walnut Grove Cemetery.
