Mrs. Mary Abby Shifflett, 71, of 214 7th Ave, North i n Texas City, died at the Autumn Hills Convalescent Center in Texas City. Funeral services were June 7. Mrs. Shifflett was born July 5, 1903, in Sara, Okla. She was a resident of Texas City for 42 years. She was a member of the Baptist Church.Survivors include her husband, L. E. (Ed) Shifflett of Texas City; two daughters, Mrs Louise McDougle of Bacliff and Mrs, Irene Crisp of Angleton; six sons, George Shifflett of New Orleans, Glen Edward Shifflett of La Marque, John Sale Shifflett of Alta Loma Robert L. Shifflett, CharlesHenry Shifflett and Jerry Don Shifflett of Texas City; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle McDougle of Houston; a half sister, Mrs. Ethel Wiseman of Turlock, Calif.; three brothers, George Jamison, Del Goldsmith, and David Goldsmith all of Turlock; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
