Mamie was the only daughter of John Fay and Bridget McAvoy.

She died on 29 March (not May) 1900 of pneumonia (per the original Calvary Cemetery records); her burial at Calvary Cemetery was paid for by Father Hugh Gallagher, Bridget's maternal uncle.

By the time Mamie's mother died in 1903, Calvary was fairly full, and her son had Bridget buried in Holy Cross in Colma instead.

Bridget was buried in Holy Cross on 6 Nov 1903, and on 15 Dec 1903 Mary's remains were disinterred from Calvary and reburied at Holy Cross in the same plot.
