MRS. ELLA COFFMAN DIES, LONG ILL

Loved for Kindly Character- Funeral Services Saturday, 11 A. M., from Home.

Mrs. Ella G. Coffman. widow of James W. Coffman, died at her home at 8:45 p.m. last night, after lingering illness which she bore with patience and courage.

Mrs. Coffman was loved and revered for her kindly and upright character and fearless adherence to her Christian principles. For her there was no such thing as compromise with wrong. Neither did she complain of the troubles and misfortunes of life but surmounted all adversities successfully with untiring industry and good judgement.

It was these qualities that made her one of the best known and best liked women of this city.

James W. Coffman died in 1918 after Mrs. Coffman was aged sixty two at the time of her death. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Harrisonburg and was born and reared in the city.

She attended Shenandoah Normal College and taught school several years before her marriage to Mr. Coffman on May 17, 1894.

Mrs. Coffman is survived by her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Anne Snyder, of Harrisonburg, and by the followihg children: Elizabeth Ruth Coffman and John W. Coffman of Harrisonburg: Mrs. W. Meade Williams, of Lynchburg: J. Aubrey Coffman of Muskegon Heights, Michigan; and seven grandchildren, she is also survived by three sisters and one brother; Mrs. J. T. Lyons and Mrs. J. W. Jones of Washington; and Miss Maude Snyder of Harrisonburg and Lewis A. Snyder of Cincinnati. Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at her residence. 86 Grattan Street, at 11 o'clock Saturday and will be conducted by the Rev. E. L. Woolf, D.D.
