SRDA, Barbara Ann (Brandon) - Of Flint, age 60, died Wednesday, August 30, 2000 at Genesys Health Park, following a long illness. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM Saturday, September 2, 2000 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 706 Beach Street in Flint, Father Cecilio Reyna officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Visitation 5-9PM Thursday and 1-4 and 6-9PM Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A rosary will be prayed at 7:30PM Friday at the funeral home. She will be at the church from 10AM until the time of the service on Saturday. Barbara was born, one of 13 children, in Arkansas on February 15, 1940, to Aubrey and Lucille Brandon. She married Donald Richard Srda on November 22, 1958 in Flint. Surviving are her husband, Donald; her Grace, Wisdom, Strength and Courage will live on in their daughters, Sherrie Lynn Palmer (Russell), Donna Marie Gustafson (Eric), Cathy Jean Burnett (Wade), Tracie Sue Stewart (Raymond), Deena Joi Hosmer (Eric); 10 grandchildren, Trina Marie Charles (Stephen), Kelly Jo, Kimberly Ann, Donald Richard II, Brandon Scott, Steven Kirk, Nicholas Scott, Kristal May, Garrett James and Joseph Andrew; 2 great-grandchildren, Nickolas Lane and Damion Nathan; mother, Lucille Brandon; mother-in-law, Myrna Srda; sisters, Charlene Clark, Agnes Smith, Audrey Meeks and Emma Horne; brothers, Aubrey (Jr.) Brandon, Kenneth Brandon and Joe Brandon; brother-in-law, John and wife Mary Kay Srda; sister-in-law, Dorothy Brandon; many nieces, nephews, special friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Terri Ann; father, Aubrey Brandon; brothers, Fredie, Edward, Dicky and Thomas Brandon; sister, Ella M. Lewis and father-in-law, Richard Srda. Throughout her life she shared her heart with all who needed it the most. She always had a kind word and a place in her heart for those in need. Those of us who loved her will always carry her spirit in a special place in our hearts and listen for her voice between the heartbeats.
